Safeguarding

At Ysgol Dewi Sant, the safety and well-being of our pupils is our top priority. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

We hve robut policies in place to ensure effective safeguarding, and we work closely with parent, external agencies, and our wider community to make sure every child is protected from ham, abuse, and neglect.

What we do to safeguard children:

• The school has a Designated Safeguarding Team, specialist training.
• All school Staff and Governors receive annual safeguarding training.
• Clear procedures are in place for reporting concerns.
• We promote online safety and emotional well-being.
• Comprehensive background checks are carried out on all staff and volunteers.

Reporting incidents if concern

Parents and guardians play an important role in keeping everyone safe. Please report anything that appears unusual, unsafe or causes concern.

What should be reported?

• Safeguarding concerns.
• Suspicious behaviour or unfamiliar individuals.
• Accidents, injuries, or medical concerns.
• Damaged equipment or hazards.

How to report:

• Inform a member of the safeguarding team immediately (see photos below).
• Go to the main reception for assistance.
• In emergency situations, follow emergency procedures or contact the emergency services.

Information to Provide:

• Location of the incident.
• Time the incident occurred.
• Description of what happened.
